U.P Michigan victory foundraising event

February 10, 2017 @ 5:00 am – February 24, 2017 @ 4:00 am

The Upper Peninsula Michigan State Victory Fund is to cover the starter costs of the statehood campaign. The money raised will be used for the starter costs of holding public events in the top cities and villages, hiring a campaign manager and other professionals, covering the cost of social media and newspaper ads, starting a petition group, and much more. I have nine main donation levels, $5, $25, $50, $75, $100, $150, $200, $250 and $500. Even if all that you can do is give $5, a like, and a share, it would be greatly be appreciated. Your support will help our dream of Upper Peninsula Michigan becoming the 51st US state come true.

The events I have alluded to above may consist of a public dinner, guest speakers, bands, games for kids, door prizes, and much more. A petition for Upper Peninsula Michigan to become the 51st US state and ideas on how the Upper Peninsula would be the better for it will be available at such events, for people to read and sign.

More information will be forthcoming in the next few months, before the GoFundMe event starts in March, for example what a donor would receive for each award level, or information on any relevant changes to the campaign.

Update: Two of the three cities being considered for the capital city of Upper Michigan are Marquette or Escanaba; the last choice would be Sault Ste. Marie, since part of it is in Canada. These are the three largest cities in population in Upper Michigan.

The proposed boundary lines of Upper Michigan facing Wisconsin are the Gogebic, Iron, Dickson, and Menominee counties; those facing Minnesota are the Keweenaw county and Isle Royale. The proposed boundary line facing Canada is the Chippewa county, and those facing Lower Michigan is the Mackinac county in this boundary line proposal, the proposed name is “Upper Michigan.”

This boundary line proposal is subject to change to the 1970s one, which included the border counties of Wisconsin (about eight counties) and Northern Lower Michigan (thirteen counties). Some people have posted comments on this page about wanting to add the border counties of Minnesota to Keweenaw and Isle Royale, which consist of three counties. In this possible future proposal, the proposed name would be changed to “State Superior.” Please make sure to log on to the event page to see full details of the event thank you for your support in advance
