The 32nd Annual Betty Beckman Mite Tourney will be the 24th-26th at Lakeview Arena! Marquette Junior Hockey will be hosting 30 teams from across Michigan in the 6U and 8U divisions.
Please be aware that drop in hockey and open skating is cancelled on Friday, 2/24 & Saturday 2/25.
Come join the Special Events Committee, NMU Athletics, and Simply Superior as we host our first Tailgate before the NMU vs. Michigan Tech Hockey Game. We will have music, hot chocolate, Food Trucks, and some games. Bundle up and grab your friends and stop by before you go to the game!
SSFA invites the public to our 1st Annual Members and Corporate Sponsors Appreciation Night. Attendees will have the opportunity to buy merchandise, win prizes, eat + drink, TTN awards, and become a member or sponsor. The event will feature free food + drink, live music by Adam Carpenter, and prizes. Some of our favorite vendors will be there presenting their 2017 gear for sale.

Bring your best Hawaiian shirt, swimmies, trunks and a beach ball. Don’t forget your towel, it’s going to be a sweaty mess of funk and good times.
Remember to stretch for the limbo and be prepared to get your conga on.
Once again we will have the best party buses going to and bringing you back from the Outhouse Races in Trenary. The bus ride and pin costs $23/person. We have three buses that will be leaving at 11:30a.m. You need to be checked in for your seat and to get your pin by 11a.m. We are now open at 7a.m. with a full breakfast menu!! Start the party early with breakfast and one of our Loaded Bloody Marys!! We will then bar hop to the races and have a meet time for the way home. The party doesn’t stop there!! When we arrive back at The Dry Dock our friends at Upper Hand Brewery will be here for a Tap Takeover!!! This will include swag and drink specials. We have a band starting at 8pm and playing all night!! This is the party of the year and you really won’t want to miss it!!!!
How to sign up: Call The Dry Dock (249-3298) and pay over the phone. Or stop in (5029 US41S) and pay by card or cash. We have 105 seats and they tend to go fast so don’t wait too long!
When to get here: Be here by 11a.m. to get checked in! We also have an incredible full breakfast menu that will be served starting at 7a.m. No tables will be reserved for before or after races so get here early for breakfast!
What to bring: You may bring coolers on the bus. We sell beer to go as well. HOWEVER, NO COOLERS WILL BE ALLOWED IN THE BAR. DRINKING IS ALSO PROHIBITED IN OUR PARKING LOT. Please, be respectful.

Students from the Computer Science Department at Michigan Tech will provide free
tutoring at the Portage Lake District Library for beginning computer users. These computer help sessions with individual tutors will be held every Saturday from September 10th through April 22nd, except when MTU is not in session (November 19th and 26th, December 17th, 24th and 31st, January 7th, March 4th and 11th).
“BASIC: Building Adult Skills in Computing” will show participants how to use the
internet to keep in touch with people, share pictures and letters, find information, solve
computer problems, and much more. Tutors will help each participant with their own
particular needs. People may attend as many of the sessions as they wish, and those who
have laptops may bring them.

Join Double Trouble Entertainment on a thrilling bus ride out to the Trenary Outhouse Races! You dont want to miss this classic Upper Peninsula tradition that is entering its 24th year.

Come out and support Kyle Miron who was diagnosed with Medulloblastoma. He is on a long journey of treatments, rehab, Proton Radiation Therapy, and Chemotherapy to remove the remaining tumor on his brain stem. As Kyle continues to fight and heal, we would like to help he and his wife Eliza and 2 beautiful little boys with related expenses through this fundraiser.
A benefit dinner will be held on Saturday, February 25th from 2-7 pm at the Wawonowin Country Club in Ishpeming, MI. We will also have live music, drink specials, prizes, bake sale, ‘Be Like Water’ shirts and bracelets for sale, and much more!
Food will be catered by Wawonowin and will include hot dogs, brats, potato salad, chips, chili, and all the fixings. Tickets are $12/adults, $5/kids 12 and under, and $30/family and can be purchased at the door. There will also be a cash bar.
