Mine truck slips off the road; ends up in ditch

HUMBOLDT TOWNSHIP — No one was injured after a mine truck slid off the road Thursday morning in Humboldt Township.

Just before 10:00 a.m., an MJ VanDamme semi-truck was traveling south on M-95, about a mile south of US-41, when the driver lost control attempting to turn east into the Humboldt Mill.

According to a Michigan State Police trooper on scene, poor road conditions caused the semi-truck to veer into the ditch. The driver was not injured.

No citations were issued. Two wreckers were called in to help remove the truck from the ditch.
