County releases recount election results
ESCANABA — The Delta County Clerk’s Office held a recount Tuesday concerning the two seats up for grabs on the Bay College Board of Trustees.
Thomas England, who lost a potential seat on the board, lost in the November election by 12 votes. He filed a petition to have the recount last month.
After every vote from all 27 precincts was counted, it was determined that England gained four votes, as did his opponent, Joy Hopkins. In the end, England still lost a seat by 12 votes.
Hopkins and Steve O’Driscoll were both elected to the board.
