Local food drive brings in over 2,000 pounds of canned goods

GLADSTONE — Despite the cold temperatures, holiday spirit continued to spread for a local annual food drive.

According to Gladstone Public Safety, the annual Candy Cane Can Food Drive — held this past weekend — was a success. The food drive is put on by Gladstone Public Safety officers and firefighters from both the Gladstone and Escanaba Township Volunteer Fire Departments.

Officials say the event brought in 2,640 pounds of canned goods and $214 for St. Vincent de Paul. If you would still like to make a donation, you can drop it off at St. Vincent de Paul.
