Police confirm investigation into ALTRAN Director

MUNISING — ABC 10 has learned and confirmed that Rochelle Cotey, the executive director of Alger County Transit (ALTRAN), is currently on administrative leave.

The ALTRAN Board of Directors made that decision due to an ongoing investigation against Cotey that’s being conducted by the Munising Police Department. Cotey has been on administrative leave since the end of October.

Munising Police Chief John Nelson would not comment on the nature of the investigation. Nelson did confirm that there is an active investigation concerning Cotey and that the investigation has multiple angles to it.

While Cotey is on administrative leave, ALTRAN Administrative Assistant Kim Monette is running the day-to-day operations. ALTRAN has provided transportation services in Alger County and the surrounding area for 34 years.
