Local organization teams up with Toys for Tots

MARQUETTE — A local organization is looking for donations to give to the children in the community this holiday season and a special prize is at stake for those who donate.

U.P. Home Health and Hospice has been in the community for 43 years and has been supporting the Toys for Tots program every year since its inception. In that time, the locally owned and operated company has donated over 1000 toys to the program for Christmas.

Director of Operations, David Aro, says it’s extremely important to give back to the community during the holidays.

“As part of a health organization, part of the health of the community is giving back and making people’s lives nice, especially around Christmas time. People can have other problems going on and nobody wants to have a Christmas without toys or a good meal,” Aro said. “As a community member, our company feels that we’ll do everything we can so people can eat and have a good time at Christmas.”

You can help out by donating a $5 toy to either the Ishpeming or the Marquette office. For every $5 toy you donate, you can fill out a slip and enter into a drawing for an Apple Watch.

The drawing will be held on December 15.
