Woman receives prison sentence for unarmed robbery charge

MARQUETTE — A Marquette woman will spend at least the next four years behind bars after pleading guilty to one count of unarmed robbery.

Cassie Croschere, 22, received 4-15 years in prison at her sentencing on Thursday. Croschere was arrested in August after she fled the scene of an overdose and took control of someone’s vehicle with them still in the passenger seat.

She then lead police on a brief high speed chase in Ishpeming Township. Charges of carjacking and fleeing and eluding were dismissed as part of her plea agreement.

This was not the first time Croschere has been in trouble with the law. Last year, she pleaded guilty to larceny in a building for stealing a check from her grandmother.
